The Șopotu Nou–Cheile Nerei–Podul Bei–Sasca Română hiking trail is 24 km long and takes around nine hours. A shorter route is the Sasca Română–Sasca Montană–Cascada Șușara–Cărbunari hiking trail, which is 8 km long and takes around three hours.

Nature
In the east of Caraș-Severin, Domogled–Valea Cernei National Park covers 23,185 hectares. It extends across the basin of the Cerna River, from its source to its confluence with the Belareca. The national park features limestone cliffs, gorges, alpine clearings, limestone ravines, thermal caves and thermomineral springs.
Semenic–Cheile Carașului National Park covers 36,051.5 hectares and contains natural features of physical-geographical, floristic, hydrological, geological and speleological significance. The Iron Gates Nature Park is a nationally protected area in IUCN Category V and extends across the counties of Caraș-Severin and Mehedinți, predominantly in the geographical region of the Danube Gorge. Near Mehadia lies Râpa Neagră, a nationally protected geological nature reserve in Category III.
The bison reserve in Armeniș serves the successful reintroduction of the European bison (Bison bonasus) into its natural habitat and its effective conservation. The underground natural world is also represented by several surveyed systems: The galleries and chambers of Peștera Comarnic discovered to date are 5,229 m long in total. Peștera Rolului is 108 m long and consists of three chambers. Peștera cu Oase consists of a system of 12 inner galleries; human remains more than 35,000 years old were discovered there.
Getting around
The area of Domogled–Valea Cernei National Park can be reached from Timișoara and Caransebeș via DN6/E70 to Băile Herculane and then via DN67D along the Cerna Valley.
The Semenic ski area offers winter sports on slopes at an altitude of approximately 1,400 m. The resort of Trei Ape lies at an altitude of 850 m on the shore of the Trei Ape reservoir. Water sports are practised on Lake Trei Ape. The comparatively consistent snow cover at Trei Ape enables winter sports over a longer part of the cold season.
The CaraÈ™-Severin section of the Via Transilvanica is intended for hiking, cycling tours and horse riding. The section of the Via Transilvanica in CaraÈ™-Severin is called Terra Banatica and passes through more than 20 settlements in the county.
Culture and history
The Ethnographic Museum of Oravița displays traditional crafts, household products, food-related objects, looms and handicraft items from Țara Carașului. Oravița railway station is a starting point for the Oravița–Anina railway line and is registered as a historic monument. The Oravița–Anina railway line is recognised as a monument of technological history and passes through 14 tunnels and over 10 viaducts between its two stations.
The Catholic Church of Steierdorf in Anina is a building monument of national importance and was constructed in 1872–1873. Marble from Ruschița was used in the restoration of Milan Cathedral in the 1970s.
The steam locomotive museum in Reșița is an open-air museum at the entrance to Reșița and displays 16 exhibits from different periods of construction. The RESICZA locomotive is one of the first three steam locomotives built in southeastern Europe and was made in Reșița between 1872 and 1873.
The thermal baths built in 1871 on the left bank of the Cerna comprise a pavilion building, a covered thermal-water pool and a hydrotherapy department in the enclosed pavilion.
