Landshut Castle rises above Bernkastel’s old town on the foundations of a Roman fortification dating from the 4th century. From there, panoramic views extend over the Moselle loop, the rooftops of the old town and the surrounding vineyards.

Culture

Bernkastel’s historic centre is characterised by narrow streets, half-timbered houses and a historic market square. The Spitzhäuschen is one of the townscape’s popular photographic subjects. Parking is available in Bernkastel and Kues, including a multi-storey car park in the old town and facilities along both banks of the Moselle.
