History and Culture

The Municipality of Dobrinj is one of seven local self-government units on the island of Krk.

The written history of the Dobrinj area dates back to 1100; the Listina slavnog Dragoslava was created in that year.

The material heritage preserved by Dobrinj includes an old town with an autochthonous form of defence and the local square Place, which is lined with plane trees.

Hiking

A 13.9-kilometre circular route from Kras through the Dobrinj area follows the dry-stone walls near Vela gromača, the ruins of Dolovo and the historic Glagolitic Trail to St. Peter's Church.

Coast and Getting There

Soline and Meline are designated as beaches in the Dobrinj area.

The Dobrinj area can be reached by ferry or car and is connected to the mainland by a bridge.
