Polje: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture and history

Polje is the birthplace of Ivan Črnčić, a priest, educator, philologist, Slavist and historian associated with research into the Baška tablet and other Croatian Glagolitic heritage. Dr Ivan Črnčić is credited with initiating the first organised primary school in Polje; its building was financed by him. At the same time, Polje is one of the older settlements of Dobrinjština. On 8 September, the village celebrates the local festival of Mala Gospoja.

The old landing place on Polje’s Druženin peninsula is considered part of the cultivated landscape.
