When comparing holiday apartments in Torre Val de San Pedro, you can compare travel dates, room categories and cancellation policies on the respective listing page. This information helps you define your own parameters; the natural, hiking and cultural topics can be considered independently of them.

Nature

The municipality of Torre Val de San Pedro includes the Pinar de Navafría, with groves of yew trees. The entire municipality lies within the Natura 2000 network and also within the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park. This places a specific woodland landscape alongside two large-scale protected areas, which can be considered separately when exploring the area.

Trails and Cycling Routes

The Ruta del Agua is a 15 km circular hiking trail that starts and ends in Torre Val de San Pedro. The Camino de San Frutos is a pilgrimage route between Segovia and the Ermita de San Frutos. Its third stage, 18.1 km long, leads from Pelayos del Arroyo via Torre Val de San Pedro to Pedraza.

The Camino Natural de la Cañada Real Soriana Occidental can also be completed on foot and, along almost its entire route, by mountain bike. The short stage of this route leads from Collado Hermoso past La Salceda; beyond the N-110, Torre Val de San Pedro can be seen before the stage reaches Navafría. The circular trail, pilgrimage route and stage represent different types of routes. For personal planning, you can therefore consider length, course and type of activity separately.

Mountain bikers can also use the Ruta de La Bardera: it is a 21 km mountain-bike circuit that visits the three villages belonging to the municipality of Torre Val de San Pedro. In each of the three villages, the route has a recreational area with bicycle racks, picnic tables, rubbish bins, fountains and information boards. The figures of 15 km, 18.1 km and 21 km therefore provide an objective basis for comparing different route lengths.

Culture

The Nuestra Señora del Rosario festival takes place in Torre Val de San Pedro on the second weekend of October. Torre Val de San Pedro also preserves a Paloteo dance tradition featuring male Enaguado costumes. The tradition preserved in Torre Val de San Pedro is more than 400 years old and is associated with devotion to the Rosary, which Pope Pius V initiated on the occasion of the Battle of Lepanto (1571).

In Torre Val de San Pedro, courses by Raúl Santana can be booked and exhibitions of his stained-glass work can be visited. For the chronological context of the cultural offerings, a fixed October weekend and a tradition more than four centuries old thus stand alongside one another, while the courses and stained glass provide another cultural perspective.
