Levice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Levice lies where the plain of the lower Hron Valley meets the western foothills of the Ipeľská pahorkatina. The Margita-Ilona leisure complex has four pools with thermal water at temperatures of 25 to 29°C.
When planning a trip to Levice, you may wish to focus on renting a holiday apartment.
Nature
The Horšianska Valley is a protected national nature reserve and offers an easy walk along the Sikenica stream. The Levice ponds are an important resting place for migratory birds and are used for fish farming.
Šiklóš (Vápnik) is visited for its unique panoramic views of the region and is associated with the historic extraction of “Levický zlatý ónyx”. The travertines of Santovka on the Búr stream are protected natural formations; Tufová kopa in Santovka is also a protected natural formation.
Poiplie is important for bird species such as the white stork (Ciconia ciconia), kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) and European bee-eater (Merops apiaster). The area includes aquatic habitats typical of southern Slovakia, agricultural landscapes and grazing areas.
Trails
Šiklóš (Vápnik) can be reached on foot, by bicycle or by car. The signposted hiking trail Pukanec–Devičany via the Krížny buk saddle, Ťatiar, Argaš, Priesil and Žuhračka is 17 km long and has an elevation gain of 705 metres.
The “Okolo mesta kráľovien” tourist educational trail in Bátovce is 5.3 km long, passes through easy terrain and takes approximately four hours. A documented hike follows a disused railway line and visits the Hontianska priepasť and the site of the former Hont Castle.

The Bohunice Water Mill exhibition has been open to the public since 1978; the mill is designated as a technical monument. The Ján Franko Pottery Museum in Pukanec includes a pottery workshop where visitors can see how ceramics were made in the past and how they are made today.
The exhibition on the history of Pukanec presents the oldest history of the municipality, the development of mining and crafts, as well as historical kitchen and bourgeois room interiors. It is located at Námestie mieru 17 in Pukanec.
The Hontianske Museum presents permanent exhibitions on the ethnography and history of the Hont region. The Hontianske Museum and the Ľudovít Simonyi Gallery offer groups of visitors guided tours of the city's sights.
