Culture

The bell tower of Le Thor was built in 1844 as a clock tower above the Porte de Douzabas town gate. The Notre-Dame-du-Lac church was built in the 12th century and is a masterpiece of Provençal Romanesque architecture with Gothic elements.

Nature

The Colline de Thouzon offers panoramic views over the plains of the Comtat and Provence, the Vaucluse mountains, Mont Ventoux and the Alpilles.

The Grottes de Thouzon are a natural cave in Provence developed for tourism, featuring the fossil bed of an underground river and striking yellow and golden stalactites. They are open from April to October.

The hike from Le Thor to Thouzon is an accessible 6 km route connecting the old town with the Château de Thouzon. The Trou de la Nassion refers to a deep section of the river; from a gate in the town walls, a landscaped and documented promenade begins there and continues to the Passerelle de la Garancine.

The Club de Canoë-Kayak du Thor offers a guided canoe trip from Le Thor along a wild and unspoilt section of the Sorgue.
