Lagnes lies at the southwestern tip of the Monts de Vaucluse. The Sorgue plain borders the western edge of the municipality; the hills east and north of Lagnes in the Monts de Vaucluse are characterized by garrigue, holm oaks, and pine trees.

Landscape
Lagnes lies at the foot of the Pieï rock. From the highest point in the village, there is a view over the Luberon and the Alpilles.
The walking trail to the Tête du Soldat can be reached on foot from Lagnes and leads through garrigue scented with thyme, rosemary, and pine trees. The Tête du Soldat is a rocky ridge offering a 360-degree panoramic view over the Luberon, the Alpilles, and Mont Ventoux.
A hiking trail offers panoramic views of the village and the plain from a cliff. Another hiking trail leads through the Peithe cedar forest.
Culture and History
The Mur de la Peste runs through Lagnes and is part of an approximately 20-kilometer-long dry-stone wall built in 1721.
A 13th-century castle towers over Lagnes and was renovated in the 16th and 17th centuries. The old village of Lagnes can be explored via narrow lanes lined with old houses decorated with flowers.
The Church of Saint-Pierre, dedicated to Notre-Dame-des-Anges, was completed in 1612. In 1844, it was demolished except for the bell tower and subsequently rebuilt in the Romanesque style. The Chapel of the White Penitents was built in 1646; the former Chapel of the White Penitents is now used as an exhibition venue.
The Tour de l’Horloge was formerly a municipal building and later a school. It towers over the center of the village and is crowned by a wrought-iron bell frame. The fountain of Lagnes has a round stone basin and a cast-iron bowl supported by the figures of two children.
Trails and Cycle Routes
The Luberon Cycle Route No. 4 connects Maubec, Robion, L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, and Lagnes. The L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue–Lagnes–Robion cycle connection is designated as a cycle route in the Luberon.
