Entraigues-Sur-La-Sorgue: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Culture
In the town centre of Entraigues-sur-la-Sorgue stands the Tour des Templiers, a 20-metre-high square tower renovated in 2006 and considered to be a remnant of the Château Vieux. It was probably built in the 11th or 12th century and remodelled several times in the 13th and 14th centuries. The tower can be visited and offers panoramic views of Mont Ventoux, the Dentelles de Montmirail and the Monts de Vaucluse. It can also be visited during the Journées du Patrimoine.
The Église Saint-Pierre-es-Liens was rebuilt in 1840 on the site of the original Notre-Dame des 7 Douleurs church. The interior of the late-19th-century Église Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens includes statues, a walnut pulpit and paintings, some of which come from the Avignon seminary. After eight years of construction work, it was completely renovated in 2006.
The Centre Horloger de Provence brings together repair workshops, a training centre, a manufacturing facility and a sales area. It also bears the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant designation.
Nature
The Sorgue crosses the Comtat Venaissin plain. To the north of Entraigues-sur-la-Sorgue lie wet meadows crossed by mayres, or streams. The Les Rochières wetland is criss-crossed by numerous water channels and includes species-rich natural meadows as well as stands of vegetation typical of Mediterranean riparian forests.
Along the Sorgue, you can fish, walk along the banks and use a fitness trail. The circular route “la Sorgue aval” is suitable for observing the local flora and fauna, including kingfishers, beavers, otters, reeds and water lilies.
Market
The Wednesday market on the town hall square offers fish, meat, fruit and vegetables, eggs, olives, honey, cheese, an Asian caterer and clothing.
Leisure
Labyrinthe les Hautes Herbes is a two-hectare maze in a maize field with puzzles whose theme changes every year. It also features several wooden games, a pedal-kart track and a shaded picnic area for families.
