History becomes tangible in Ansouis through its buildings and collections. The Château d’Ansouis and its park, including the remains of the fortification walls and the square tower, were classified as a historic monument by decree of 10 May 1948. The château can only be visited as part of guided tours and with prior reservation. Its terraced gardens overlook the Vallée d’Aigues and offer panoramic views.

Culture and History
The parish church of Église Saint-Martin in Ansouis, including its semicircular porch, was also classified as a historic monument by decree of 24 October 1988. Another side of the village is showcased by the Musée extraordinaire, which houses a collection of corals, shells and fish assembled by Georges Mazoyer over 40 years.
The area around Ansouis is home to other historic sites: the Château de la Tour-d'Aigues and the Abbaye de Silvacane. Guided tours of the village of Ansouis, organised by Ansouis Patrimoine in cooperation with the Office de Tourisme Sud Luberon, resume in spring and are offered twice a month until October.
Local Life
The weekly market in Ansouis takes place every Sunday morning at the foot of the village, on the Place de la Vieille Fontaine. During the warmer months, it offers fresh fruit and vegetables, prepared foods, local products and other goods.
