Saint-Romain-En-Viennois: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Saint-Romain-en-Viennois is considered a circularly laid-out village. It lies on the left bank of the Lauzon, on the slope of Dévès hill and on the edge of the Mont Ventoux Regional Nature Park. Anyone considering Saint-Romain-en-Viennois as a travel destination may be planning to rent a holiday apartment.

Nature

Saint-Romain-en-Viennois is considered a medieval village in the Pays Vocones. The old village can be explored on foot from the town hall car park via its recently repaved streets. Remains of the former fortifications can be seen in the fortified walls.

Culture and History

The Eglise Sainte Anne has two bell towers: one is topped by a campanile, while the other has a pointed roof. The church was rebuilt in the 19th century. Saint-Romain-en-Viennois traditionally holds a procession in honour of Saint Anne, which follows the “petit tour” through the village’s narrow streets. For the Sainte-Lucie celebration, the Fête des lumières was held here in both 2023 and 2025.

Things to Do

A path along the washhouse leads up to the Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-l’Annonciation. The chapel lies opposite the village and was built on a Safre elevation. For a playful way to explore the area, there is also “Intrigue dans les villages”, a large-scale treasure hunt from village to village. Participants solve a mystery using a mission sheet, travel journal, map and other useful investigative equipment.

The Aire de pique-nique du Lavoir is located in the car park of the Lavoir next to an old washhouse.
