Prissac: Holiday apartments and houses

Prissac is located in the southwest of the Indre département and is part of the Parc naturel régional de la Brenne. This affiliation helps preserve the natural heritage. Rémi also provides an on-demand transport service on line L from Prissac.

Paths and landscapes

The “Au long de la Sonne” circular trail no. 50 starts in Prissac, is 11.5 kilometres long, marked in yellow, and takes around three hours. It follows shady country lanes and paths, passes Château la Garde Giron and the Moulin de la Charpagne, and crosses the river at a ford. The “Mosaïque bocagère” circular trail no. 17 leads through the rolling bocage landscape of the Abloux Valley and ends at the municipal pond.

Cycle route no. 10 through the bocage of the Abloux Valley also follows roads with little traffic. It passes through an idyllic landscape characterised by hedgerows and traditional buildings.

Culture and history

The Église Saint-Martin has a bell-tower porch dating from the late 12th century; the second section, with two similar naves, dates from the 15th century. Its vaults are covered with painted foliage ornaments and floral motifs. The seigneurial chapel contains depictions of religious scenes, including saints and a Mass of Saint Gregory, as well as a hunting scene.

The 3 Musées de Prissac bring together three collections: the agricultural machinery section includes hand tools, tractors and combine harvesters, as well as more than 571 exhibited objects and documents. The Espace Gutenberg presents the technical development of printing equipment over five centuries. Facteur rural is devoted to 150 years of postal history in Berry. Château de la Motte was a former Augustinian commandery of Montmorillon and overlooks the Abloux Valley.

Nature by the water

The Gué de Laveau in the municipality of Prissac has been protected since 13 August 2025 by a prefectural order protecting a biotope. During a walk at the Gué de Laveau, European pond turtles, butterflies and dragonflies are introduced; measures that combine agricultural management and biodiversity are also explained.

Fishing at Étang Rémy Louveau is organised by an association and is open to everyone. The municipal pond has a play area and a picnic area and is located on the D10 at the entrance to Prissac when arriving from Saint-Benoît-du-Sault.
