Luçay-Le-Mâle: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Train du Bas-Berry runs for 27 kilometres along the preserved Luçay–Argy narrow-gauge railway line and offers journeys on an authentic “Tortillard” from the 1950s. The stations, crossing keeper’s cottages and part of the Train du Bas-Berry railway line are listed in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments.

Culture

On the western exterior of the Church of Saint-Maurice stands the “Cavalier Constantin”, an equestrian statue made of hewn stone dating from the 12th or 13th century. Visits to the Musée de la Pierre à Fusil last 1.5 hours and take place by appointment through the town hall at 02 54 40 43 31.

Nature and Activities

The La Foulquetière leisure centre offers free, unlimited access to tennis, mini-golf, a fitness trail and hiking trails. Swimming is permitted in the leisure centre’s pond, but there is no lifeguard supervision.

Luçay-le-Mâle is one of ten municipalities participating in the Sentier Benjamin Rabier soft-mobility trail project. The Sentier Benjamin Rabier combines the work of artist Benjamin Rabier with the discovery of the region’s landscapes and natural heritage.

The Château de Valençay, a château, as well as the Abbaye de Barzelle and the Abbaye Notre-Dame du Landais, both historic sites, are located in the vicinity of Luçay-le-Mâle.
