Neuvy-Saint-Sépulchre: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the centre of Neuvy-Saint-Sépulchre, there is a historical walking tour with information panels about the history of the town. Three signposted hiking trails also start from the town centre.

Walking and Fishing

The municipal circular trails lead through the bocage landscapes of Neuvy-Saint-Sépulchre. In addition, the municipal lake is an open fishing area classified as a first-category fishing water. It covers approximately 5 hectares and can be used with a federal fishing permit.

Culture and Architectural History

In the immediate vicinity of Neuvy-Saint-Sépulchre are the historic site of Abbaye Notre-Dame de Varennes and the church of Basilique Saint-Étienne de Neuvy-Saint-Sépulchre. In the wider surrounding region are the historic site of Abbaye d'Aubepierre and the church of Abbaye de Déols.

The rotunda of the Basilique Saint-Étienne de Neuvy-Saint-Sépulchre was built from the mid-11th century onwards, modelled on the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Its central space, bounded by eleven columns, housed a reliquary monument modelled on the Turgarium of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.

Festivals and Local Produce

On the last weekends of October, Neuvy-Saint-Sépulchre hosts the Journée de la Pomme et des Fruits du Pays. It includes workshops, demonstrations and conferences on local production. Neuvy-Saint-Sépulchre has also hosted an organic fair since 1974.
