Neuillay-Les-Bois: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Neuillay-les-Bois can be explored via signposted paths and distinctive bodies of water. The 10 km circular trail Circuit des étangs Neuf No. 44 is a signposted hiking route starting in Neuillay-les-Bois. It leads through wetlands and wooded areas to the Les Etangs Neufs fishing complex and begins at the fairground on the restaurant side.

Ponds and fishing

Fishing is permitted free of charge at the municipal pond in Neuillay-les-Bois. There are picnic tables beside the pond on the Route de Buzançais.

The waters at the Les Etangs Neufs fishing complex are set up differently: The 4.6-hectare Les Epinettes pond is designated for carp fishing. The 2.5-hectare Les Vinaires pond is a bass fishing lake and is home to a very large largemouth bass population. The 6.2-hectare Les Fontaines pond is intended for all types of fishing.

Cycle routes through the Queue de Brenne

The 28 km cycle route Itinéraire vélo No. 12 – Balade champêtre en queue de Brenne leads through the landscapes of the Queue de Brenne and can also be started in Neuillay-les-Bois. Its route passes through fields, meadows and wooded areas.

Culture and history

The Romanesque parish church of Saint-Hilaire in Neuillay-les-Bois, a sight included in the regional range of attractions in the Brenne, was built in 1174. The main portal and the Romanesque capitals have been preserved. A Roman road between Argentomagus near Argenton-sur-Creuse and Orléans, the ancient Genabum, runs through Neuillay-les-Bois.

The La Ferrandière manor house, dating from the 15th century, stands on the banks of the Claise in Neuillay-les-Bois. In the direction of Luant, Bois-Robert has been documented since 1571; in 1898, a château was rebuilt there in place of the earlier structure.
