Mouhet brings together architectural heritage, recurring festivals, local activities and local produce in the village square.

Culture and History

The Église Saint-Pierre in Mouhet was built between the 12th and 15th centuries. Since 11 May 1932, it has been listed as a historic monument of France. Its two side chapels contain a preserved fragment of contemporary stained glass from the period in which the church was built.

The historic site of Abbaye d'Aubignac is located near Mouhet. In the wider region are the ruins of Abbaye Notre-Dame de la Colombe and the historic site of Abbaye d'Aubepierre.

Events

Every year around the Pentecost weekend, Festiv'en Marche organises a festival of French chanson in Mouhet. On the first Sunday in September, the day of Mouhet's village festival, a mass in honour of Saint Hubert is held, accompanied by hunting horns.

The monthly calendar also includes a regular date: Bar de l'Amitié opens on the first Saturday of every month for a convivial evening.

Activities

The Eaux vives 36 association organises local cultural, sporting and discovery activities, mainly in the Mouhet area.

Cuisine

At the Marché gourmand in Mouhet, around fifteen local producers present their products in the village square. Visitors can also enjoy plated meals on site, offered by the respective producers.
