Crozon-sur-Vauvre: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Crozon-sur-Vauvre can be explored through its church, historic sites and paths. The Église Saint-Germain was built in 1856, replacing the former medieval church in the lower part of the village. The church contains a stone Stations of the Cross from Poitou, created by Abbé Graillot with the support of sculptor Cyr Bedu.

Culture and History

The imposing east wing of Château de La Lande has been preserved between two square towers and the moats; the lords of La Lande had it built towards the end of the 1570s.

Les Forges was established in 1672, using the surrounding forests of Montpeget, Fond du Four and Garenne de Crozon, as well as the water power of the Vauvre. At the former site of Les Forges, about 1 km from the church, visitors can see the master blacksmith’s house, the blacksmiths’ accommodation, the water basins and the dam.

La Planche à la Noire is a small picturesque bridge on the Chemin du Boué au Plaix and may be a remnant of an ancient Gallo-Roman road. Le Chêne du Nau is a remarkable oak tree in the village of Boué. According to local tradition, it was planted to commemorate a memorable place; “Nau” was a variant of “Noël” in the old Berrichon dialect.

Discoveries in the Village

In the game “Sur les pas d’Hirsute”, pictures of Hirsute have been placed at eleven different locations in the village. The game is intended for children aged five and over, accompanied by an adult.

The treasure hunt “Sur les pas du Père Gadou” includes a 4 km circular route and a 3 km bonus section for additional clues. Participants solve riddles, collect clues and search for a treasure.
