Saint-Denis-De-Jouhet: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The church of Saint-Denis-de-Jouhet has been classified as a historic monument by ministerial decree of 8 June 1920. Its stained-glass windows from the 12th and 13th centuries depict various episodes from the legend of Saint Denis in medallions.

Culture

Among the surviving testimonies to Saint-Denis-de-Jouhet’s past is the Château de Séguière. The church also contains a stained-glass window depicting the Annunciation; the two lancets show the Virgin Mary and the Archangel Gabriel.

Nature

The “La vallée du Gourdon, chêne des pendus” walking trail runs around the municipality of Saint-Denis-de-Jouhet. The “Moulins et croix” walking trail also runs around Saint-Denis-de-Jouhet, leading to mills and crosses along the Gourdon Valley.

Local attractions

Moulin Neuf is a 19th-century mill in Saint-Denis-de-Jouhet where wheat from local producers is processed into flour. The mill, also known as Le Moulin Neuf, sells wheat flour directly by prior appointment.

La Pommeraie Idéale in Saint-Denis-de-Jouhet is mentioned in an inventory of intangible cultural heritage in connection with exceptional orchards created by some passionate horticulturists. La Pommeraie Idéale is closed to the public until further notice.

Events

The names Grande Foire du 4 octobre and Fête de la Tomate are associated with Saint-Denis-de-Jouhet as local events. The Fête de la Tomate is scheduled for the penultimate weekend in August.
