Ingrandes: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Ingrandes showcases its history through striking buildings and lively visitor attractions: Château d’Ingrandes dates back to the 11th century, was restored in the 14th century, and is classified as a Monument historique.
Culture and History
The parish church of Notre-Dame was built or rebuilt between 1696 and 1698. Due to work carried out in the 19th and early 20th centuries, almost nothing remains of this rectangular building; Notre-Dame Church is open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Maison de la Croix Blanche features frescoes by Willette.
The foundation of the Moulin de Pontigny is attributed to the royal abbey of Saint-Savin; in 1439, it belonged to the Seigneurie of Ingrandes. The restored Moulin de Pontigny has a working water wheel and a functioning internal mechanism and can be visited.
The Musée Henry de Monfreid also adds to the cultural attractions: it can be visited by appointment from Monday to Friday by calling 06 80 70 54 65. From 1 May to 30 September, it is also open on Saturdays and Sundays from 3 to 6 p.m.
Nature and Trails
Hiking trail no. 30, “Par les sentiers boisés”, begins in Ingrandes at the Voie Verte behind the community hall near the former railway station. It follows the Anglin to the Chapelle de Plaincourault and offers views of Château d’Ingrandes.
For cyclists, the Voie Verte runs from Ingrandes via Concremiers to Le Blanc.
One of the riding routes follows the Anglin to Lurais and is 27 km long. In addition, four riding routes with variants for horse-drawn vehicles start at the Manoir de Saint-Victor; Ingrandes is specified as the starting point.
