Celon: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Celon showcases art in places where the village itself becomes an exhibition space: the Circuit des Arbres is a footpath through the village featuring works by regional artists, including painters, draughtspeople and mosaic artists. All the works relate to trees and are displayed outdoors at prominent locations in Celon.

Culture and History

A special event is La Médiévale de Celon, which takes place on the first weekend of September every even-numbered year. The Château de Celon also reflects several historical periods: the castle complex, built in the 15th century, consisted of two towers with machicolations flanking a rectangular building. In the 13th century, the château was initially a simple dwelling surrounded by moats and fishponds.

Paths and Landscape

The walking trail Aux portes de la Marche leads around the 15th-century Château de Celon and the 14th-century Saint Germain Church. It begins at the Stade in Celon and climbs uphill to the Point de Vue viewpoint. The trail is 10 km long and takes 2 hours and 30 minutes. From the heights of Celon, you can experience the diversity of the surrounding landscapes.

Geographical Setting

The historic site of Abbaye d'Aubignac is located near Celon. In the wider region are the ruins of Abbaye Notre-Dame de la Colombe, as well as the historic sites of Abbaye d'Aubepierre and Abbaye Notre-Dame de Varennes.
