Hrochov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Hrochov lies on a plateau north of Lipová, in the direction of Konice, and on the road from Horní Štěpánov to Ptení. The meadows above the village offer far-reaching views across the Morava floodplain, as well as towards the Nízký Jeseník mountains and the Moravian Gate. In the spring months, many protected plants bloom in the meadows around Hrochov.

History

Hrochov was founded in the second half of the 17th century. The first buildings were an inn, a barn, and a cottage or shepherd’s hut. Later, thirteen settlers moved to Hrochov, cleared the surrounding forests, and built additional houses. The local architectural heritage also includes the listed Chapel of Saint Lawrence, which was built around 1843.

Routes and events

Cycling route 5039 passes through Hrochov. The “Hrochovská kostelní cesta” trail leads to the Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Jednov and is lined with holy images. Since 2010, the SDH Hrochov volunteer firefighters’ association has organized the district competition “Hrochovská stodňa” for youth teams.
