Dětkovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Above Dětkovice, on Plánivá Hill, are the remains of a Dutch-type windmill built between 1750 and 1800. Other local features include chapels, orchards, and the cutting down of the maypole (Kácení máje), a tradition that has been preserved in Dětkovice to the present day.

Nature

The chapel below Plánivá lies among apple orchards above Dětkovice and offers views of Dětkovice, Vranovice, Určice, and Předina Hill with its transmission tower. It can be reached from Dětkovice via a field path that begins at the northern edge of the village.

The southwestern cadastral boundary of Dětkovice borders the Blátka Nature Reserve, which belongs to the cadastral area of Vranovice-Kelčice. Fruit growing is a major branch of agricultural production in Dětkovice.

Mobility

Cycle Route 5041 runs through Dětkovice along a Class III road; there are no separate cycle paths in the municipality. Dětkovice is connected to the surrounding settlements by two bus routes as part of the Integrated Transport System of the Olomouc Region.

Culture

The Chapel of St. Anne in Dětkovice, a valuable example of sacred architecture dating from 1835, is a prominent feature of the village square; it was built in 1835 and consecrated in 1839. The wayside chapel near Dětkovice was built between 1711 and 1714.

Traditions

The Dětkovice Volunteer Fire Brigade organizes, among other events, the ascent of Plánivá (Výstup na Plánivu).
