Zdětín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Zdětín lies at the transition between Haná and the Drahany Highlands. One of the village’s distinctive landmarks is the Chapel of St. Anne on the village green, built in 1843 for 1,200 gulden.

Culture and History

In Zdětín, the three-day Easter tradition of Hrkání, Klepání or Řehtání from Maundy Thursday to Holy Saturday is still alive today. The old Haltýř well also refers to the village’s history: it was formerly part of the Zdětín manorial farmstead.

The archaeological site of Bílovický hrad lies in the cadastral area of Zdětín, above a small abandoned quarry. Its origins date back to the Early Neolithic, dated here to 4,000 to 2,500 BC. In the 13th and 14th centuries, Bílovický hrad was also used as a fortified aristocratic residence.

Landscape and Trails

A marked local cycling trail runs through Zdětín. Nearby, northeast of Mount Bílá hora, lies the protected area of the Na Hůrkách nature reserve.

Bělecký Mlýn

The well-maintained Studánka Bělinka spring is located by Bělecký Mlýn, not far from the main road. After Bělecký Mlýn burned down in 1928, an excursion centre was built on the site the following year.

The Bělecký Mlýn visitor area is open year-round and includes a children’s playground, a workout area, an enclosure with Cameroon goats and a bird aviary.

Local Customs

The Martinské hody celebrations in Zdětín are associated with a tasting of slivovitz and other spirits.
