Vícov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Vícov lies at the foot of the Drahanská vrchovina Highlands. Near Vícov lies Ježův hrad, an archaeological site on a hill above the Okluka River, with the remains of a large medieval castle and an older hillfort. The castle is located within a military training area; no marked path leads to it.

Culture and History

On 1 May 2022, the Feast of Saint Florian, the patron saint of the church, was celebrated in Vícov. The surrounding area of Vícov also contains the Pomník obětem 1. a 2. světové války memorial, the Pomník obětem 1. světové války memorial, and the Socha sv. Jana Nepomuckého monument. The Kostel sv. Andělů strážných church is also located nearby.

The side altar of the Church of St Florian in Vícov is dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary.

Landscape

The Březina military training area's forested area borders Vícov to the southwest. It lies on gently undulating uplands with deeply incised ravines, spruce and beech stands at higher elevations, and diverse deciduous forests in the valleys.

Horka, which is considered a mountain, lies in the vicinity of Vícov. The surrounding area of Vícov also includes Chlum, Skály, and Skalky, each of which is considered a mountain.

Paths and Routes

Cycling Route 5031 passes through Vícov, where it connects to Cycling Route 5, the Amber Trail. A red-marked hiking trail also runs along the southwestern edge of the Vícov cadastral area. It forms part of the Prostějov–Plumlov–Hamry–Vícov–Stínava–Malé Hradisko–Seč–Přemyslovice–Náměšť na Hané route.
