Myslejovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Myslejovice lies at the eastern foothills of the Drahanská vrchovina and is surrounded by the forests of the Březina Military Training Area.

Landscape and Bodies of Water

The Myslejovická Reservoir is located in the Březina Military Training Area. Fishing at the reservoir is restricted due to military training operations. A marked local cycle route also runs through Myslejovice.

At Křéba, the southern and western slopes descend above the Brodečka and a left-bank tributary; the difference in elevation is up to 60 metres. The wooded hill of Zámčisko lies about 500 metres west of Myslejovice; a small castle stood there in the Middle Ages.

Archaeological Traces

On Spálený kopec are the remains of a hillfort dating from the transition between the Late Bronze Age and the Early Iron Age, dated to the 9th to 7th centuries BC. Its fortifications consist of three stone-and-clay-built ramparts. Due to its small size and the limited amount of material found, the hillfort is probably considered a refuge site.

The archaeological landscape of Myslejovice includes the remains of hillforts from the period of early Slavic settlement on the nearby hills of Kozákov, Zámčisko and Spálený vrch. Traces of settlement from the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Celtic culture have also been found in the surroundings of Myslejovice. In 1991, pottery fragments from the Late Neolithic Funnel Beaker culture came to light at Křéba.

Buildings and Remembrance

The Church of the Annunciation in Myslejovice is a Baroque building dating from 1788. West of Myslejovice, near the Winterovka cottage, there is a small monument commemorating Karl Winter's death in 1912.

Accessible and Protected Sites

The former castle site of Zámčisko is not publicly accessible without permission, as it lies within the Březina Military Training Area. The remains of the castle rampart known as Křéba are located about 400 metres from the centre of Myslejovice; the Křéba site is freely accessible.
