Nature

The Mokroš Biocentre represents a floodplain habitat with meadows, woodland and wetlands. As an educational area, it is open to the public and contains native flora as well as flora that has been deliberately introduced and expanded. Mokroš provides a suitable setting for walks and nature observation; the Mokroš educational trail features five information boards.

Culture

The Church of St Martin complex includes the church, a mortuary, the old part of the cemetery, an enclosing wall, a gate and a small wicket gate. Mořice Castle has been protected as a cultural monument since 1958.

The penitential cross “Smírčí kříž pokutný” is the oldest monument in Mořice and dates from 1430. It is carved from coarse-grained sandstone; a carved stabbing weapon is visible on its reverse side.

The wayside shrine “Boží muka” in Mořice was erected in 2008 and commemorates a local tragedy. According to an entry in the local chronicle, 18-year-old František Čičinský hanged himself here about 180 years ago, presumably because of unrequited love.

Experiences

The Zahrada pěti smyslů serves children from Mořice and the neighbouring villages. It includes educational beds with traditional rural plants as well as medicinal herbs and shrubs, and is a learning and recreation area with stations for all five senses.

Events

The Revival Festival Mořice is a summer open-air festival for revival bands and has been a tradition there since 2001.
