Lešany: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

In terms of their character, Lešany combine the Haná villages of the area beneath Velký Kosíř with the settlements of the Drahanská vrchovina.

Landscape

Lešany lie between orchards and gently sloping fields above the Romže River. The only patch of woodland near Lešany lies in the valley of the Lešanský Stream west of the village. In the Na hůrkách area, there are acidic, heat-loving grasslands in a mosaic with scattered trees and small wooded areas; protected and endangered plant and animal species occur there.

Culture

The Chapel of Saint Francis Xavier in Lešany was built in 1722 and has been protected as a cultural monument since 29 December 1994. The belfry located in the centre of Lešany was built in 1831; on 24 April 1834, the clock made by Spurný was installed on the belfry.

The Church of the Holy Trinity in Lešany was completed in 1884 and built in the Historicist style with Neo-Gothic elements. An avenue leads to it from the road. The war memorial in Lešany was erected in 1921 and, after 1945, supplemented with a plaque bearing the names of those who fell and were murdered in the Second World War.

Things to do

The 24-kilometre cycle route 5039 leads from Lešany via Zdětín to Ptení and then continues towards Horní Štěpánov. The park by the church is one of the attractions in Lešany.
