Určice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Určice lies in the western part of Haná, southwest of Prostějov and at the foot of the Drahanská vysočina. The history of the town is particularly evident in the Church of Saint John the Baptist and the other historical evidence in the town and its surroundings.

History

The present-day Church of Saint John the Baptist in Určice was built between 1727 and 1734 in the Baroque style. A free-standing tower stands next to the church; it certainly dates from the middle of the 15th century. The crypt beneath the church contains the remains of Kateřina z Kravař.

The establishment of the Marian pilgrimage site in Určice is associated with the parish priest Pavel Alexander Jakšíček. A statue of Saint Florian dates from 1766. Interested visitors can view historical documents in the library of Určice.

Things to do

The marked green hiking trail from Otaslavice via Určice to Plumlov passes through Určice. Two designated cycling connections are listed: Marked cycle route No. 5013 begins in Prostějov and continues via Určice, Výšovice and Skalka to the Němčicko microregion. Marked cycle route No. 5041 is designated as the Určice–Vranovice–Dobrochov–Vyškov connection.

Several recorded landmarks and landscape features can be found in the immediate vicinity of Určice: the monument-listed object Socha sv. Jana Nepomuckého, the also monument-listed object Pomník obětem 1. světové války, Chlum, recorded as a mountain, and (Plániva [Dětkovice]), recorded as a hill.

The surroundings of Určice also include Předina, recorded as a mountain, as well as Horka, also recorded as a mountain. In the wider regional area are Hrádek and Kuchlov, recorded as ruins.
