Hrubčice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

A stone cross in Hrubčice is about four metres high and dates from 1898. Its niches contain statues of Our Lady of Sorrows, Saint Joseph and Saint Aloysius Gonzaga.

Culture

The “Hrubecký zámek” chateau was built in the 16th century as a late Renaissance structure. Around 1700, it was remodelled with Baroque elements. A balustrade staircase leading from the park to the upper floor was also built during this period.

The church in Hrubčice is first mentioned in 1605. The “Filiální kostel sv. Urbana” church was built in 1755 and 1756 as a Baroque structure and dedicated to Saint Urban.

Sacred Sites

The sacred building stands outside the village, with a cemetery surrounding it. It has a main altar and three side altars dedicated to Saint Barbara, Our Lady of Lourdes, Saint Elizabeth, Saint Zacharias and Saint John the Baptist. A stone cross dating from 1857 stands in front of the church.

The stone statues of Saint Florian and Saint John of Nepomuk date from 1736. They originally stood on the village square on either side of the road; this place was formerly called “U svatých”.

History

The tall, four-sided bell tower in Hrubčice stands in the centre of the village and was built in 1769. The bell tower was renovated in 1997.

The “Kaple sv.Cyrila a Metoděje” chapel was built in 1887 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the settlement and completed a year later. It was consecrated on 27 July 1888.

Landscape

Hrubčice is located in the fertile Haná region. The Bedihošť–Hrubčice cycle path is signposted with the upright C8a and C8b traffic signs.
