Near Malé Hradisko lies Staré Hradisko, an important Celtic oppidum. It was inhabited from the LT-C2 to LT-D1 periods. The fortified area covers approximately 37 hectares and is divided into an inner area as well as a western and an eastern outer area.

Culture and History

In the centre of Malé Hradisko stands the Chapel of the Virgin Mary, dating from 1845. The Staré Hradisko educational trail begins there. The Chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary has been a cultural monument since 1958 and has a rectangular floor plan with a semicircular apse.

In the settlement of Okluky, which belongs to Malé Hradisko, the Chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary was built at the beginning of the 19th century. The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk is also part of the village scenery: the stone sculpture stands on a solid masonry pedestal. The restored original is kept in the chapel on the village square, while a polychrome cast copy stands on the pedestal.

On the outskirts of Malé Hradisko, in the Branky district, stands a listed stone building. Part of it resembles a Dutch masonry windmill; however, it has not been conclusively established that the building actually served as a mill.

Nature and Trails

The Staré Hradisko educational trail begins at the Chapel of the Virgin Mary in Malé Hradisko. The Malé Hradisko Circuit is 9.2 km long and begins and ends along the Staré Hradisko educational trail route and at the Celtic oppidum.

The circuit initially follows the Okluka stream and forest paths. The forests around Malé Hradisko are suitable for mushroom picking and gathering wild berries.

In the settlement of Okluky, which belongs to Malé Hradisko, a forest path leads to Čertův hrádek near a blue-marked hiking trail. Čertův hrádek preserves the remains of a medieval castle, including parts of the moat and rampart as well as the foundations of a round tower.
