Culture
Stínava is home to the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, a cultural monument dating from the 13th century. Despite alterations in the 17th and 19th centuries, it has preserved its original character. In the presbytery behind the main altar, it preserves remnants of frescoes; it also has a bell dating from 1490.
The Celtic settlement of Staré Hradisko is located in the immediate vicinity of Stínava. Every year, a festive mass is celebrated in Stínava Chapel on the feast day of the missionaries Cyril and Methodius. The chapel above the Studánka Sv. Cyrila a Metoděje spring was restored in 1881.
Location and Nature
Stínava lies at the foot of the Drahanská vrchovina highlands, 400 metres above sea level. The Okluka stream flows around Stínava.
Stínava is surrounded by forests, and its surroundings are suitable for walking. The Jesinková spring is located in the forest near Stínava.
The Stínava ponds were created by restoring a former wetland. They provide a habitat for wetland species such as snakes, newts, salamanders, snails, crayfish, various species of frogs, whirligig beetles, dragonflies, damselflies and aquatic plants. The ponds are located near the Okluka stream and serve as a resting place for tourists passing through or hiking across Stínava.
