Hrdibořice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Hrdibořické rybníky ponds are a national nature monument designated in 1990 to protect peat meadows with rare plant and animal species.

Nature

The Hrdibořické rybníky ponds are home to one of only two occurrences of Matizna bahenní in the Czech Republic. They include Velký rybník, Malý rybník and four smaller ponds created through peat extraction.

A total of 67 bird species have been recorded in the Hrdibořické rybníky area. Its habitats include ponds, wetlands, meadows, wooded field margins and forest.

The Blata 3 fishing grounds in Hrdibořice cover 11.0 hectares. They are stocked with carp, tench, bream, crucian carp, pike and zander. While fishing at the grounds, numerous waterfowl can be observed among the reed beds and along the banks.

The Hrdibořické rybníky ponds can be reached from Vrbátky by bicycle or on foot: first along a paved road and then via a well-maintained field path.

Culture and surroundings

The Chapel of Saint Florian was built in 1749. The monuments Pomník obětem 1. světové války and Socha sv. Jana Nepomuckého are located in the surroundings of Hrdibořice. The churches Kostel sv.Michala and Kostel Panny Marie Sněžné are also situated nearby.

The Předina, Chlum and Horka hills are also located in the surroundings of Hrdibořice. In addition, there is the hill (Amerika) [Vrbátky - Dubany na Hané].

A local tradition of its own is the straw nativity scene in Hrdibořice: every year, it is expanded with new figures together with friends. The tradition was founded 15 years ago by Františka Novosadová together with friends; Novosadová looks after the local library.
