Hacky: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hačky is situated on a high plateau in the northeastern part of the Drahanská vrchovina. To the north, the village is protected by Březina Forest and the 562-metre-high Na skalách mountain. From Hačky, there are expansive views across the countryside towards Velký Kosíř.

Landscape

The local landscape includes the “U dvou studánek 2” spring in Hačky, which can be reached on foot via a footpath.

Cycling

The annual traditional “otvírání silnic” marks the beginning of the cycling season; Hačky is the destination of the first group ride after winter. The “Za větrnými mlýny okolo Konice” cycling route also passes through Hačky. One of its three windmill stops is the Hačky windmill.

Culture and History

The composer Antonín Žváček, who was born in Hačky, composed around 500 works, mainly polkas and waltzes. Kanafase and Barchete fabrics were woven in Hačky. The Chapel of the Virgin Mary in the centre of Hačky was built in 1927; above its entrance is a fresco depicting Saints Cyril and Methodius.

The Hačky windmill also represents the history of the village: the former wooden windmill burned down to its foundations in 1914, and a new windmill was built on the same site in 1923. The wind wheel of the Hačky windmill has a diameter of 7 metres and consists of six wooden blades. The windmill is privately owned and is not open to the public for visits.
