Horní Štěpánov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The area around Horní Štěpánov is largely wooded. The southwestern part of the extensive cadastral area is included in the Řehořkovo Kořenecko Nature Park.

Nature and Landscape

The Uhliska Nature Reserve is located in the cadastral area of Horní Štěpánov, near the source of the Bělá stream. A green-marked hiking trail runs along its western boundary. Immediately behind the built-up upper edge of Horní Štěpánov lies the V chaloupkách Natural Monument, a spring meadow with a rich variety of flowering plants. Its protected features include, in particular, the gladiolus orchid.

The Pohorská louka Natural Monument is also located near the settlement of Pohora.

Paths and Water

The natural swimming lake, or natural bathing area, in the Pohora district of Horní Štěpánov is used for swimming. The Javoříčko–Jaroměřice–Horní Štěpánov tourist route also passes through Horní Štěpánov.

Culture and History

The original bell, known as the “umíráček,” has been preserved in St. Lawrence Church. The Chapel of the Holy Trinity in Nové Sady is one of the churches and chapels of the Horní Štěpánov parish where services are held regularly.

At the site called Na hutích, remains of a glassworks were discovered at the end of the 19th century; it is believed to have stood there in the 16th or 17th century.
