Zámek Kolešovice Castle is a cultural monument. It comprises the old and new castles, an enclosing wall with gates, and the castle park.
Culture
The interior of Zámek Kolešovice Castle is not open to the public. The Kostel sv. Petra a Pavla Church stands in the centre of Kolešovice next to the castle. It is a single-nave Baroque building with predominantly Baroque furnishings; the present church was built by E. Kondel in 1768–1769.
The Kaple sv. Jana Nepomuckého Chapel stands on the outskirts of Kolešovice at the crossroads of the roads to Heřmanov and Zderazi. Inside, it is decorated with a stone statue of Saint John of Nepomuk from the mid-18th century.
Nature
The landscape around Kolešovice is not highly varied and has a low proportion of forest. The main crops are hops, grain and legumes.
At the small hop field in Kolešovice, supported by wooden poles, visitors can try picking hops by hand during the harvest season on the last Saturday in August.
Things to Do
The “From the Unique Hop Dryer to the Counter-Admiral’s Grave” puzzle trail starts at the historic hop dryer in Kolešovice. The Kolešovka cycling route has only 49 metres of elevation gain; according to the tourism information, it is also suitable for family outings.
The Kolešovka heritage railway runs along a 17-kilometre route from Lužná u Rakovníka to Kolešovice through hop-growing villages in the Rakovník region. Kolešovice is the terminus of the excursion steam trains on the Kolešovka heritage railway.
