Račice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Račice lies on a slope on the right bank of the Berounka, in a landscape typical of the Křivoklátsko region. The river, forests and open meadows shape the surroundings of the village.

History and Village Sights

The history of the village dates back to 1556: that year, Račice was first mentioned when four potters founded the settlement. The founders were required to deliver 12 pots and 12 lamps to Křivoklát Castle every week.

The sights include the wayside shrine on the village square, the remains of a medieval settlement in the Stříbrné údolí area, and the former princely forester’s lodge, Kolouch.

Landscape and Flora

Rare forest orchids grow in the forests around the Žloukava stream. In the Pustá seč area, extensively mown meadows are protected from the lowlands to the hilly country. The mesophilous smooth oat-grass meadows in Pustá seč are home to numerous protected and endangered plant species.

Trails and Railway

Račice can be reached on foot via a yellow-marked hiking trail. In the 2026 timetable, Račice nad Berounkou is listed as a stop on railway line 174 between Rakovník and Beroun.
