Šípy lies on the western edge of the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area. The Šípský mlýn hamlet lies in the valley of the Šípský potok stream.
Landscape
In the vicinity of Šípy are Hradiště Hill [Chříč-Lhota], Ostrý vrch Hill [Slabce-Modřejovice], (Stará Jedlina) Hill [Slabce-Rousínov], and Krakov Hill. Velký kopec rises above Šípy to a height of 471 metres.
History and culture
The historic farmyard in Šípy has a preserved Baroque barn. The statue of St. John of Nepomuk on the village square in Šípy is protected as a cultural monument.
Milíčov may have been founded as early as the late 13th century. Around 1350, a fortress and a church were built in Milíčov. The Church of St. Peter in Chains in Milíčov has been protected as a cultural monument since 3 May 1958.
Cycling route
On the Rakovník Loop to Krakovec Castle, cyclists leave the cycling route in the neighbouring municipality of Šípy and continue along the road to Řeřichy.
