Oráčov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

About 1 km northwest of Oráčov, Hradiště Starý zámek is situated on Zámecký vrch. The medieval fortified settlement features preserved stone fortification remains, arched ramparts and a moat. In 1295, the Oráčov vladyka Odolen resided at this site.

Culture and history

The Catholic Church in Oráčov, dedicated to Saint James the Elder, is a Baroque building dating from the first half of the 18th century. Its history can be traced back to the 14th century; extensive restoration began in 1746.

The Protestant church has stood in Oráčov since 1902. Its architecture is based on the Gothic and Romanesque traditions. Since 2001, it has been a protected immovable cultural monument.

The Zderaz-Oráčov Jewish cemetery is located in the cadastral area of Oráčov.

Places and routes

The Oráčov railway halt is located on railway line 161 between Rakovník and Bečov nad Teplou. Cycle route CT 8167 runs from Oráčov railway station to the junction near Čížkov.

The so-called Zlatá stezka still connects Hůrky with Klečetná today.

In the forest above Klečetná is Trpasličí díra, a drainage adit from a long-abandoned silver mine.
