Městečko: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Městečko lies in the valley of the Rakovnický potok stream. The municipality includes parts of the Křivoklátsko forests north of the village, extending to the upper section of the Klíčava Reservoir.

Nature and trails

Křivoklátsko is a landscape of species-rich deciduous forests, deeply incised river valleys, rocky slopes, and diverse plant and animal life. In the vicinity of Městečko, the Brdatka educational trail follows a hiking route from Křivoklát to Zbečno; it has 16 stations.

Culture and history

The Church of St. James the Greater was rebuilt from its original Gothic form into its Baroque form in the 1730s. The church and the delineated plots of its grounds are protected. The church’s older bell, St. Adalbert, was cast in 1497 by Jan Konwarz.

At Ohnicova náves in Městečko, the granary at house no. 2 is a noteworthy example of vernacular architecture in the Křivoklátsko region. Šimon Šíp, the figure of the last bearer of the Ohnivec servitude in Městečko, is considered to be the figure depicted by Alois Jirásek in his novel “Mezi proudy”. The historic railway station building of Městečko u Křivoklátu is part of the village’s cultural heritage.

Mount Loustín and Mount Tuchonín are located in the surroundings of Městečko. The U Lípy Hill [Městečko u Křivoklátu] and Mečná Hill [Městečko u Křivoklátu] are located in the immediate vicinity of Městečko.

In the wider regional surroundings of Městečko are the ruins of Týřov, Karlštejn Castle, the Zřícenina Pravda ruins, and the Church of U Svatého Gotharda. Městečko u Křivoklátu railway station is integrated into the public transport system.
