Milostín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Milostín, the Church of the Archangel Michael stands as a freestanding building made of stone and brick masonry. Its chancel has a three-sided end; a tower projects in front of the southwest façade.

Culture

The monument to the American pilot William Hoelscher commemorates the fact that the pilot of the 4th Fighter Group of the 8th US Air Force was rescued by Czech patriots on 25 April 1945 after parachuting from his damaged Mustang over Milostín. Milostín also has a documented tradition of hop cultivation.

The historic centre of Povlčín features an exceptionally well-preserved urban structure. Large agricultural farmsteads line an elongated rectangular village green.

Landscape

The registered landscape feature V Hané is a headwater area of the Lišanský stream with moisture-loving meadow communities and occurrences of the European globeflower. Hop fields are part of the agriculturally shaped landscape of Milostín.

Activities

The Sokolovna is a historic building dating from 1900. The Sokol group in Milostín invites women and men to regular training sessions at the Sokolovna; the training programme includes yoga, trampoline training and Tabata.

The municipality’s events calendar listed an Easter trail with creative workshops for children at the Sokolovna on 4 April 2026.

Milostín has bus connections to Rakovník and Prague. The town is also connected to railway line No. 124 between Lužná u Rakovníka, Žatec and Chomutov.
