Hořovičky: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Hořovičky is home to the Kostel sv. Cyrila a Metoděje Church with a vicarage. It is a national cultural monument and forms a closed ensemble in the historicist Neo-Romanesque style. The Orthodox Kostel sv. Cyrila a Metoděje Church was built in 1901–1902 as a Protestant church in the pseudo-Romanesque style; its interior is accessible during services.

Culture and history

Hop cultivation has shaped the development and character of Hořovičky from time immemorial. The village is dominated by large, multi-storey post-classicist brick houses with extensive farm areas designed for hop cultivation. Prehistoric evidence in Hořovičky includes finds from the Neolithic period, the Únětice culture and the Early La Tène period, including a princely tomb.

The Zřícenina Pravda ruin and the Zřícenina Lina ruin are each located in the wider regional surroundings of Hořovičky. The Svatý Prokop monument is located near Hořovičky, as is the U Svatého Gotharda Church. The Kostel Povýšení sv. Kříže Church on the village square in Vrbice is a national cultural monument in the Neo-Renaissance style. Landscape and nature

The landscape around Hořovičky is gently rolling to hilly, with a mosaic-like mix of forests, fields, meadows and hop gardens. The registered landscape feature Šmikousy, a former pond, is a valuable wetland. Jesenicko Nature Park lies south of Hořovičky.
