Příčina: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Příčina is the birthplace of the writer Tomáš Antonín Pánek. He was born here on 22 February 1901 and wrote more than two dozen adventure novels for young readers. The slopes above Příčina were a popular destination for excursions during the childhood of the writer born there.

Culture and History

In the park opposite the municipal office stands the protected tree Jilm drsný I.; the memorial to the fallen of Příčina is also located there. Opposite the municipal office there is also the cross of Antonín Nachtikal from the 18th century. The site of U Svatého Gotharda, a church, is located in the vicinity of Příčina.

The preserved remains of Příčinská tvrz can now be seen in a row of houses to the east, in the direction of the former school building, as well as on the northern side of the former enclosure. Wall remains more than two metres high have survived from Příčinská tvrz. The historic colony in Příčina comprised ten semi-detached houses built as workers’ accommodation for the “Ludvík” hard-coal mine; some of them have survived to this day despite alterations.

Landscape and Views

West of Příčina lies Kamenné stádo in the forest in the direction of Petrovice. At Vrch Divín there is a viewpoint at the water tower on the road from Příčina to Žďáry. In clear weather, Příčská hora offers views of the Ore Mountains and the power stations of northern Bohemia.

The ruins of Týřov and Loustín Mountain are located in the vicinity of Příčina. Nearby are the hills of Senecká hora W [Senec u Rakovníka] and Na Plánci [Lubná u Rakovníka]. In the wider regional surroundings of Příčina are the Zřícenina Pravda ruins, Džbán Mountain and the Svatý Prokop memorial.
