Sýkořice can be understood through three defining features: the Berounka along the edge of the cadastral area, paths through forests and countryside, and evidence of Baroque and regional history.

Landscape

The western and southwestern boundary of Sýkořice’s cadastral area is formed by the Berounka. The Kabečnice Nature Reserve is home to a species-rich thermophilic flora on steep rocks and slopes above the Berounka Valley, including the critically endangered small orchid.

Břetislavův dub is a protected individual tree that was first placed under protection on 10 July 2000.

Hiking Trails

The Pěnčina viewpoint lies within the cadastral area of Sýkořice. From Sýkořice, after leaving the yellow-marked hiking trail, a forest path leads directly to the Pěnčina viewpoint.

A yellow-marked hiking trail leads from Zbečno through the northwestern part of Sýkořice to the U hájovny Kaly (Běleč trail junction). This hiking trail through the northwestern part of Sýkořice forms part of the Říp–Blaník pilgrimage route. Two hiking trails also lead through Sýkořice to the ruins of Jinčov. A red-marked hiking route leads from Zbečno towards Beroun.

Culture and History

The niche chapel Výklenková kaplička sv. Jana Nepomuckého in Sýkořice is a Baroque wayside chapel with a rusticized Baroque stone statue of Saint John of Nepomuk in the niche.

Dřevíč is privately owned and not open to the public. The Dřevíč hunting lodge in the Křivoklátské forests was originally a forester’s lodge dating from 1572 and was later converted into a small two-storey Baroque hunting château belonging to the Fürstenbergs.

The war memorial to the fallen of the First World War in Sýkořice was made from stones taken from a former quarry behind Skalka.
