Krusovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Krušovice combines a brewing tradition dating back to 1581 with castle architecture, hiking trails and traces of history in the surrounding area.

Brewery and Castle

Beer has been brewed at the Krušovice Brewery since 1581. Buildings belonging to the brewery are attached to Krušovice Castle. The castle itself is a large, two-winged Baroque building dating from around 1711; there is a Baroque chapel in the eastern wing. The Krušovice Brewery Museum displays equipment used in hop cultivation and malt production, as well as coopering and blacksmithing tools for making barrels.

Hiking and Historical Traces

With the exception of two short sections, the Louštín hike follows marked hiking trails and leads to the 537-metre-high summit. In total, it has an elevation gain of 150 metres. On Louštín, mighty beech trees provide a modest example of the area's original forests. In the vicinity of Krušovice, Louštín is also home to the remains of a prehistoric hillfort, probably dating from the La Tène period. The Louštín hike passes the ruins of the wall of the former Křivoklát game park from the 18th century.

Another hike leads to Rabas Mill via field and forest paths, some of which are paved. Apart from a short initial section, it runs mainly outside marked hiking trails. Rabas Mill, in the vicinity of Krušovice, is not open for interior visits and can only be viewed from the outside. Its history dates back to the 16th century; it is also the birthplace of the painter Václav Rabas. In the vicinity of Krušovice, the Baroque Jordánek Chapel rises above a spring-fed pond depression.

Nature and Cycle Routes

Three pedunculate oaks designated as natural monuments stand near Krušovice. Cycle Route 8192A passes through Krušovice. The Poddžbánsko Beer Cycle Route comprises routes 0115 and 0116; Route 0115 runs from Lužná railway station to Krušovice.
