Svinařov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Svinařov can be discovered through its tangible evidence of history and regional culture. The village square is home to a chapel from 1870 dedicated to Saint Procopius. Local residents built it; Alex, Prince of Croÿ, supported its construction.

Culture and History

The Holých Cross, dating from 1849, commemorates the end of corvée labor. Svinařov was the original center of the Jewish community in the Slabecko area. A ritual bath for Jewish women was established in Svinařov in accordance with the regulations of the Jewish religion. The wooden house in Svinařov, which contained the Jewish community's prayer room and school, burned down on 15 May 1866.

Historic Routes

The historic Modřovská pěšina led to Svinařov. It was preserved to shorten the route for people and carts performing corvée labor for the Zhoř estate.

The historic Pěšina zámecká led from Krakovec through the forests of Rousínov and Modřejovice onward to Slabce; today, a branch of the district road to Svinařov follows part of its route.
