Townscape and History
The Chapel of St. Isidore is a small plastered masonry building with a rectangular floor plan and a gabled roof covered with slate. At the southern edge of the Rynholec municipal area, the historic Rynholecký dvůr has been preserved and successfully revitalized.
In the northern and southeastern parts of Rynholec’s historic center, regular development aligned with gables toward the street has been preserved, with houses and farmsteads arranged around a distinctly elongated rectangular village green.
About 2 km south of Rynholec, on a wooded hill called Starý zámek, only a hill with a comparatively extensive medieval rectangular fortification measuring 70 × 100 m remains of Sobín. The massive ramparts are visible on three sides, while the ditches have today been largely filled in. The Sobín site is freely accessible from the western side via the adjacent field.
