Hájkovský rybník is part of the pond system in the Bakovský potok valley. The landscape includes the stream flowing through the village and the waters of the valley. South of the valley lies a harmonious agricultural landscape with a pastoral character.

Culture and History

The historic centre of Srbeč is situated around a large village green. A fortress once stood in its centre, later being converted into a small château with an estate courtyard. This château is a cultural monument and a multi-storey Baroque building dating from the 18th century.

The religious buildings also reflect different periods of construction. The pilgrimage Church of the Holy Trinity was originally a Renaissance building from the 16th century and was remodelled in the Baroque style around 1700. The Church of Saint James the Greater is a cultural monument and a single-nave Romanesque building; its present appearance dates from 1877 to 1880.

Places of Local Life

The Otevřeno café in the small château in Srbeč also serves as a tourist information centre and as an exhibition and concert venue. The local history also includes the former Srbeč brewery, which stood by a pond that is now used as an open-air swimming pool. During the summer months, an outdoor restaurant is regularly operated on the grounds of the local open-air swimming pool.
