The slalom course in Roztoky is 250 metres long; 180 metres of it consists of an artificial slalom course. Around 45 gates are available there for training purposes.
Nature
The U Eremita Nature Reserve protects natural forest communities with a rich occurrence of yew trees on rocky scree slopes, as well as a living tufa area. The U Eremita geological locality is designated as a geotourist attraction or geotope.
The U Eremita geological locality lies on the right bank of the Berounka between Branov and Roztoky, approximately halfway along the U Eremita educational trail, west of the mouth of the Klučná. It comprises a calcareous spring and Quaternary tufa formations at a tectonically defined contact between the andesites of the Křivoklátsko-Rokycany Belt and Neoproterozoic schists.
Hiking
The U Eremita educational trail begins on the road from Roztoky to Karlova Ves, at the mouth of the Klučná stream where it flows into the Berounka, near an arched bridge. It is a moderately difficult walking trail that introduces visitors to the diversity of tree and shrub species characteristic of Křivoklátsko, with 35 species represented.
The “Through the Berounka Canyon to the Hermit” walking trail begins and ends at a car park in Roztoky near the whitewater slalom channel. The red hiking trail of the Club of Czech Tourists (KČT), Route 0001, also passes through Roztoky. This route is 202.5 kilometres long, starts in Zvíkovec and follows the Berounka, Vltava and Sázava rivers to the Vysočina Region.
Surroundings
In the immediate vicinity, the Na Babě Nature Reserve has a prepared viewpoint on a rocky ridge overlooking Roztoky and the Berounka; a well-marked hiking trail leads there. Also nearby, Křivoklát Castle can be reached from Roztoky via an approximately 2-kilometre footpath leading past the Paraplíčko viewpoint.
Roztoky is surrounded by wooded hills and deep, rocky valleys of the Berounka.
By the River
The Areál u jezu on the Berounka offers opportunities for picnics, swimming and sporting activities. From Roztoky railway station, a well-maintained path leads along the river, past the canoeing course channel, to the Areál u jezu.
