Panoší Újezd: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area mark two specific starting points for exploring Panoší Újezd: the church was already a parish church in the 14th century, and the village lies on the northwestern edge of the protected landscape area.

Church and history

The presbytery of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary dates from the original 14th-century church building. The church itself was built in 1718. The medieval and early modern centre of Panoší Újezd is also registered as a Category I archaeological area.

Panoší Újezd is home to the log house at house number 49. At the junction on the road to Rousínov stands the monument to land reform; it was erected in Panoší Újezd in 1932.

The war memorial from 1922 bears a medallion of Jan Hus and is one of the first Jan Hus monuments in the Czech Republic.

Later, the village was divided into Velký Újezd, which belonged directly to Křivoklát Castle, and Panoší Újezd, which had a feudal relationship with the castle. There were 21 castle vassals of Křivoklát Castle in the village.

Landscape and nature

The registered significant landscape feature Údolí východně Soudného vrchu is one of the natural and landscape values of Panoší Újezd and is considered a spring area with irregular woodland. The source area of the Dubský Stream is also one of the natural and landscape values of Panoší Újezd.

There is a pond on the Tyterský Stream in Panoší Újezd. Hůrka Hill is a landscape landmark of Panoší Újezd.

The Křivoklátsko UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and the Barrandien National Geopark are listed among the natural and landscape values of Panoší Újezd.

Roads and cycle route

Road II/233 runs through Panoší Újezd and connects Rakovník with Plzeň via Radnice. Cycle route 0046 is recorded in Panoší Újezd.
