Bdín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Bdín lies in the Džbán Nature Park and preserves a remarkably well-preserved historic settlement structure that has been practically unaffected by modern development. Its hilly landscape, high proportion of forest and distinctive traces of local history give the village a clearly recognizable character.

History

The village of Bdín is first mentioned in writing in 1318, when Jan ze Bdína (Jan de Ptyna) is named. On the village square there is a small bell tower and a bust of Jan Amos Comenius created in 1913 by the sculptor F. Čech.

Nature

The harmoniously structured, hilly landscape around Bdín has a high proportion of forest. The Bakovský potok stream flows through Bdín. On the road to Srbeč stands a pedunculate oak about 400 years old, designated as a memorial tree. On the road to Přerubenice there is also an ash tree designated as a memorial tree; it is about 50 years old and has a trunk circumference of 2.3 m.

Paths and Discoveries

The 40 km-long Route No. 11 – Kozojedy runs from Srbeč via Bdín to Kroučová. At the entrance to Bdín, it turns onto a narrow road that soon leads uphill. After the climb, the blue-marked tourist Route No. 11 – Kozojedy leads through a beech forest towards Kroučová and Třeboc.

In the vicinity of Bdín, on Mount Vošková, there is a transmitter in the form of an artificial pine tree, which became the first device of its kind in the Czech Republic in the 1990s.
